A screw spike, also known as a rail screw or lag bolt, is a robust (~6 inches or 152 mm in length, slightly under 1 inch or 25 mm) metal screw. It plays a critical role in securing a tie plate or fastening rail by being fixed into a carefully bored hole in the sleeper.
A tie plate, also referred to as a baseplate or sole plate, is a vital steel component used on rail tracks. Positioned between the flanged T rail and the crossties, the tie plate enhances bearing area and maintains the rail at the correct gauge. It is securely fastened to wooden ties using spikes or bolts through the plate's pre-drilled holes.
A Rail Pad serves as a resilient insulating material strategically placed between the rail foot and the sleeper or baseplate surface to minimize vibrations and enhance track longevity.
A Spring Clip is a specialized metal fastener crafted from spring steel, expertly designed to clamp the rail foot securely to the
