A screw spike, also known as a rail screw or lag bolt, is a substantial metal screw (~6 inches or 152 mm in length, slightly under 1 inch or 25 mm in diameter) crucial for securing a tie plate or fastening rail. These spikes are meticulously fixed into a hole bored into the sleeper.
A tie plate, also referred to as a baseplate or sole plate, is an essential steel component used on rail tracks between the flanged T rail and the crossties. It expands the bearing area and ensures the rail is held to the correct gauge, secured to wooden ties via spikes or bolts through the plate's holes.
A Rail Pad serves as a resilient insulating layer placed between the rail foot and the sleeper or baseplate surface, providing essential protection and durability.
A Spring Clip is a specially crafted metal fastener made from spring steel, adeptly clamping the rail foot to the
